Hello!

Looking for a driver's side door for my '59 apache 3600, but I need to know if other years are the same. Please let me know, as it's easier to find a part if I can cast a wider net.

Thanks...

'55-'59 are all the same for the same cab type. I will warn you, though, finding a good one used might be tricky, as the TF trucks are notorious for the doors rusting out at the bottom.

Chris,
I'm always on the lookout for doors (and fenders) too, for my '59.
So far all I've found is that if I want one in decent original shape, I better be willing to shell out the bucks and shipping is another killer.
The very bottoms of my doors are the issue.
I've seen that I can buy just that section for a fraction of the cost... and I'm hoping to get a mig welder from Santa!
Good luck in your search.
Jerry

Jerry -

That's what I'm finding too.

I just got a $495 quote from Desert Car Parts for a straight, rust free door, but they sold it to a walk in later that day.

I found a local (2 hours away) restorer that can get me a new repop door shell for $465 plus $50 shipping to him. He said that he's used 4 of them in the past 2 years, and they all fit very well. Brother's sells them for $495, but shipping will be another $170.

You can always use Greyhound to ship large parts...shipping a door from CA to CT would run me about $120. Also, for larger parts, Fastenal will ship freight on their trucks. I've heard that the prices are very reasonable.

Looks like I might have to bite the bullet on this one.

look for a firebolt. i got 2 beautiful doors for my 56 from a firetruck.. they stay inside all the time, often have very low miles, and when the fireman don't have anything else to do they wash & wax the truck. the larger trucks use the same doors. I bought the whole truck for $1500, took the doors, seat, electric wipers, and many miscellaneous parts. then sold the cab for $800, and the rest for $200 scrap. So I got all the stuff i needed for $500. here they are after just sand and paint: http://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff419/tomctomc/newdoorsfinishpaint3.jpg
