I just rebuilt the front end on my 50 3800.
New king pins, shocks, tie rod straightened and new ends.
Pulled the pitman arm and the steering arm, had the holes welded up, drilled and reamed to fit a modern tie rod. I took the old drag link and tried to measure approximate centers but everything was a mess. I came up with 12.75".
Is there a length that is correct?
How do you know?
I should have this right before I adjust the toe-in... right?

Hy lostmy47, center the steering box, set the front wheels to the straight ahead position, now measure the center to center distance between the pitman arm and the steering arm. This should be your drag link center to center measurement, If you're making an adjustable drag link, put this measurement close to the center of your adjustment range. Toe in will not effect this distance, and it will not effect toe in, that is set with the tie rod positioning, hope that helps.
