Here are photos of my 1956 3200 Chevy truck. I have been restoring 65 GTOs for 15 years (my owne). They are pretty well done and was looking for something last Fall to work on over the winter. Was at a car show in the Houghton Lake area of MIchigan in the and there was a truck in the parking area for sale. After looking at it about 5 times the owner envoke a local ordinance that if you look over 5 times you are required to buy (he says). Not knowing much about trucks, I was directed to this forum and boy am I glad I did. These folks here have been VERY helpful. I was trying to keep as much Stock as I could. The help from here made restoring much easier. And thank you all!
The truck is a 3200 1956. Has a 55 hood (working on that). I rewired the entire truck, new brakes,wheel cylinders,master cylinder,and some lines. New rear motor mounts. A friend helped with linkage alignment (now like butter) and he advised to have brass bushings on shift rods. Turn signals were in new harness and added a control at the column. Stainless rear LED light set installed. New front directional lights also. New stereo and speekers (used boat speekers). Left the vacuum wipers in (wish I had't). 235 Engine runs great. Found NOS Oil Filter unit on Ebay. Generator was restored . Installed inline valve in heater hose and it's controled by the dash control. Front seat was redone and had to make supports to mount the '72 seat. Also narrows the seat back before covering to the stop rubbing on rear cab wall corners. Still need to get the rear-end redone to 338 ring and pinion and the speedometer replaced. The 1950 in the pictures is another story and I will send another post with its story.
