Hello, I just got some new rear stake pockets for my 53. I have to admit I'm not much of a body person but I do know the old ones are tack welded. My question to those who have more experience than me, is how to remove them. I would welcome all ideas and suggestions. Thanks, Steve 53Movinon

They are special bits for your drill that are designed to remove spot welds. I bought some at Eastwood.com but you can probably find them cheaper elsewhere.

I buy mine from autobodytoolmart.com. They're about 12 bucks a piece and last a good while.. I buy the 1/4" size and it seems to work well.

Are the stake pockets on a 1965 stepside spot welded as well?
