The parking brake levers that activate the brake shoes were missing when I acquired the truck. Any ideas where I might find these rascals?

On a parts truck. Or post in 'Parts Wanted'.

Post a Want Ad in the Swap Meet (maybe you have already tried that?).

Try calling Jim Carter or Bowtie Bits. They often have used parts.

No luck at JC or BB.

A friend told me about a 41 Chevy car rear end. If the e brake parts are still there will they work?

I ordered something from obsolete chevy, that fit a late 60's-70's truck for my 62 k-20. Definitley not the same as the original, but got them to work. Also search parking brake lever in autopartswarehouse.com. Stuff comes up that you may be able to make work. In the meantime, keep looking. I was fortunate enough to get a set from someone who noticed a post on another board.

If you are talking about a 1/2 Ton, your brakes will be Bendix and the 41 would be Huck style. they have different parts. However, your brakes may have been the same for quite a few years after 52. I would look at the online parts book to see.
