If they make both, is the felt seal softer and will seal better as compared to cork?

Seems like that might seal pretty good. Anyone else remember a post along these lines or am I imagining it?

Among them there was an O ring which is the same size as the cork seal. I even compared it against the old cork seal we had previously removed. It was dusty but otherwise in good condition. Sorry, we have no idea where the PO might have bought it.
