I thought I had this problem solved but turns out I don't. I have a 1957 Chevy truck that I installed a 1960's 3 speed OD trans (1st gear synchro, 7 bolt side mounting plate, column shift). Turns out I need either different shift arms or different shift levers. Does anyone know where I can get what is required to to make this work? Or do I need to fabricate my own?
Thanks

You will probably have to modify what you have. The ones I used on my '54 burb had been modified for the syncro transmission and I had to re-modify them. It's a hassle but once you get that OD going you'll be glad you swapped.

The shift levers used on 4 speeds from the 60's are similar. They bolt flat to the side cover the same way as your Saganaw 3sp OD.
As Cletis stated you will have to modify the shift arms as the distance betweeen the shift levers is greater. I may have some shift levers that will work, send me an e mail.

Cletis and Fred:
Thanks for the response, I thought I would have to do that. I just didn't want to modify anything if it wasn't needed.
Fred I sent you a PM.

You've got the holy grail of OD's. That's a great transmission. Shift levers are the easy part, your challenge is to modify and fabricate new shift arms... here's a word diagram that I hope makes sense to you...
