Hello Bolters, Can someone out there please tell me the proper kind of lacing to use on my 37? Is it the kind with the wire, or not with wire? I think it's the cloth kind 5/8x3/16. But how is it held in place? I've looked in The Filling Station and I&I catalogs but they don't seem to be very informative. Thanks for any help

If you are wanting to stay stock, it is the cloth type you speak of. There is a wire that runs down the centre groove and wraps around screws at each end to tension it.( I think....I didn't actually install on my truck - I opted for self adhesive foam type as my truck isn't stock ) Try Jim Carter Truck Parts and Chev's of the 40's as alternate suppliers.

Indeed the stock had the wire in the middle if the '37 is the same as the '38. It's held in place by two clamps (one on each end) and two hooks about half way up the cab radius on each side. I opted for the wireless since it's easier to handle. If you use the wired type the hook shown below would hook the wire, not the edge of the lacing as I did mine.
