Hey Bolters, new to site and proud owner of 36 1-1/2. Will deliver tomorrow. Thought was to make a pickup and add 4TB Cummins but everyone is on my rear end for messing it up, mainly the wife. 235 engine not oriigional so the Cummins comes into play. Anyone been down this road? Love the site and really great posts w/ replies.

Welcome to the Stovebolt RLIVE. I don't have a big bolt but always peaking in to see whats going on. I just wanted to add that I've seen guys here that are putting in diesels. I believe Grigg is one of the guys. He'll probably check in later. Good luck on yours.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile

Hello Rlive,

Congratulations on the truck. I just acquired a 1937 1-1/2 ton myself. I personally have never tackled such a job but if you decide to go through with it I wish you the best of luck. Not knowing your mechanical background it is hard to say go for it or not.
Would love to see pictures of the truck at some point.

Eric

When you say 'pick up' are you referring to the ' 1936 1.5 Ton Open Express '? If so, I may have a set of rear fenders.

It's a short wheel base stake bed. Thinking of building a pickup bed for it and thanks for the info., I'l keep you in mind if I do.

Nice truck. Just FYI the track width is about the same as an S10 type truck. A regular modern 1/2 ton chassis takes alot of modification to get the stance looking right. That's not to say it can't or shouldn't be done. I still can't make up my mind which way to go on mine.
Check this build.

Crazy like a fox maybe. I'm loving the ideas you come up with. I will be taking a different route with my build but good design stands on its own.
