The ones on the truck are metal houseing with a grease fitting and re-enforced wire wrapped around the outside of the metal housed cable.
the reproduction cables look to be made of plastic are the reproduction sold now better than metal ones or just cheaper made?
Thanks for any comments or experence with these rear replacements E-cables.

#79004 06/20/2007 6:58 PM | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 | the original style with the grease fitting haven't been made in years - the reason you need new ones is originals didn't get greased and rotted away! yes the new style are better and will last a lot longer with no maint - not made of plastic, just have a vinyl cover to seal them well, fit in the truck just the same, go for it, but check some local stores first to see if someone might be able to get them in for you [cheaper] - I think they're made by Raybestos
