the original style with the grease fitting haven't been made in years - the reason you need new ones is originals didn't get greased and rotted away! yes the new style are better and will last a lot longer with no maint - not made of plastic, just have a vinyl cover to seal them well, fit in the truck just the same, go for it, but check some local stores first to see if someone might be able to get them in for you [cheaper] - I think they're made by Raybestos
