Hello!

Decided to removed the old single exhaust on my '59 Apache in preparation for the installation of duals. Based on what I learned here, I decided to go with 2 1/2" ram's head manifolds.

First problem - The PO put the 283 heads on the 350 that's in my truck, so, no accessory holes, and I just discovered that the new manifolds I bought do NOT have the cast-in bracket on the manifold for the alternator bracket. Has anyone ever made a bracket and used the two front manifold bolts to hold it on?

2nd problem - the bolts in the middle of the manifold will NOT come loose. I've been tapping them with a hammer to try to break the rust loose, but no luck so far. I do NOT want to break the bolts in the head.

Any suggestions?

x2 on the Kroil or a 50/50 mix of acetone & ATF. For the alternator bracket there are folks that sell well engineered pieces for not so crazy $$$. See these for example:
