Hello - I'm getting ready to paint the 503 engine in a 59 gmc model 660. The original color was a red-orange. Seems like it wouldn't be that hard to find a correct paint code or formula for this color, but there seems to be very little information. I do know that the big gassers were painted a green/gray up to maybe '56/'57 and then they started with the bright reddish orange. I have a lot of orig. GMC literature, but there's no info on engine colors. Any information would be much appreciated!

duplicolor 1607 red.orange engine paint will be your best bet. that is what i used on the ashtons engine and on my 40's wheels. the original color was pimpernel scarlet and 1607 closely matches it.
