I have a 1957 chevy c30. its an 8 lug like a 3/4 ton truck but its the 1 ton. I have the rear axle. I'm missing the entire front axle. been looking and looking for a good one but no luck.

how ever... right up the road in a c40 truck with its complete drive train. can I bolt it all on and go. I realise it has the 5 lug rims and all but can I just remove and replace my remaining drive train and install the c40 stuff.

there is no such thing as a C30 or C40 in 57, the designation for a 55-59 3/4T is 3600 and the 1T is a 3800, as would be shown by the fender side emblems, and both 3600 and 3800 have 8 lugs with either 17.5 or 19.5 wheels depending on GVW .... the 5 lug wheels would be on a 1.5T [or larger], 4100, 4400 [or maybe 6100] - not as simple as "just remove and replace"

A lot of 3/4-1 ton stuff enterchanges but the 1 1/2 ton is a much bigger animalL. If it has 5 lugs in front it will be 10 lugs in the rear.

They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing.
