I can't find a fuel filter. Unless it's underneath the motor. What kind of filter did they use? (Oh, the engine is actually a 1947 235). Eight years ago, one of the junkyards had a '37 or '38 truck in it. I hope it's still there.
Thanks for the help. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 29,773 Kettle Custodian (pot stirrer) | | Kettle Custodian (pot stirrer) Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 29,773 | The most commonly used fuel filter was a diecast aluminum piece with a fine-mesh screen and a glass sediment bowl, sometimes with a ceramic insert, that was installed at the carburetor inlet. Some fuel pumps had a similar setup incorporated into the pump assembly.
They're pretty commonly found on the auction sites. I'd post a pic, but links to them last about 30 seconds on average around here, for some reason.
