My front top shock mount is broken, it is a large pin rivited to the frame the shock fits on the pin, a stud protrudes from the pin, a nut and washer screw onto the stud to hold the shock in place. the stud on my mount is broken off, I was planing on grinding flush center punching, drilling and tapping to insert a new stud. does this sound exceptable or is there a better solution.

skip the new stud, you won't find it [unless it comes with the shocks], just use an appropriate sized grade 8 bolt
