For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: May 2006 Posts: 679 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: May 2006 Posts: 679 | Oil filler cap, valve cover cap, breather cap, whatever you call it- I bought one from one of the aftermarket houses. It is "bright", but not chrome, and by no means is attempting to pass for an original style. (Hencho in Mexico for Gates.)
Can anyone point me to a photo of an original style cap?
Is it painted? If so, what color?

Oddly, when I google for Gates Oil Breather Cap Chevrolet, I get this item. It looks pretty much like what I received from the reproduction house, but not very "period." I'll paint it- it looks odd being the only bright thing under the hood besides the metal fuel lines. Thanks again. Bill | | |
