Got my '51 1/2 ton back together and running beautifully aside from one part. The copper oil line I purchased from Jim Carter did not come with the final brass fitting that connects to the block (216ci) at the oil distributor and mine is stripped enough that it leaks badly. The JC line came with the piece that has the bead and threads into the final fitting but not the one that physically connects to the block. JC says they don't sell it.

Anyone got any ideas?

The Friendly Local Auto Parts Store FLAPS should have them. Also a plumbing supply store should too. Take your stripped one with you for matching purposes.

Just an idea, but try your local hardware store, you just might be able to find one there or at least something that may work. And be sure to bring the old one in with you because they may be able to help you figure something out. Good luck.

That one's an oddball fitting that most places stopped stocking many years ago. I have substituted for it by purchasing a 1/8" pipe to 3/16" tubing compression fitting, and drilling it out so the tube will slide all the way through it. Slip it over the tube before you bend it to shape, and screw the pipe threaded end into the block with a little brush-on Permatex on the thread. Then slide the compression ferrule and nut over the tube, tighten it, and bend the tube to shape to fit the oil distributor.
