Hey where is the best place for me to find parts for a 1950 GMC 1 ton 250 series and a 1948 chevy 1/2 ton??.. and will the 1/2 ton engine fit in the 1-ton and work temporarly??

That depends on what parts you need. A lot of parts are available locally. And there are a bunch of specialty dealers for ordering from.

Yes a Chevy engine will 'fit' in a GMC but it is 1.5" shorter and you'll have to modify your front mount location.
