Is it a torque-tube (enclosed drive shaft) rear end or an open driveshaft rearend? Tim Tim 1954Advance-Design.com 1954 3106 Carryall Suburban 1954 3104 5-window pickup w/Hydra-Matic The 216 and early 235 engines are not "splash oilers" -- this is a splash oiler.

virg912iowa Wrench Fetcher V Joined: Jul 2006 Posts: 92 Topeka Ks	The numbers are on the front part of the pumpkin, it is an open drive shaft, it is in my 50 1/2 ton. I suspect it is not an original rearend. By the way we fired up the 283 yesterday for just a few seconds....had a big grin on my face..hope to have it down on the ground this week Thanks for the replys...Virg
