As I was looking through the photos I recently took of a '49 survivor with original paint and interior and only 2,700 miles, I noticed on the underneath of the bed the number 167 and Narva written in chalk or grease pen on the underside of the bed. I have heard of the color written on the underside of the hood, but never the bed. This begs the question if the bed was assembled and then painted with the wood already installed and that the top side of the wood and bed strips would have been painted Narva Green as well as the rest of the bed rather than being left black. Anyone else have any ideas. I am soon going to be painting my GMC and some of the remaining wood in it was painted body color which also happens to be Narva Green.
