I'm looking to do the same thing. I have an '89 truck in AWESOME mechanical condition, but I really would rather drive an older looking truck. I could sell the truck... and get $1000, then add a lot of extra money and buy an awesome running older truck. OR, keep the '89 and buy a virtually rust free 1955 - 58 truck body to drop on it.
So far I have only found e-zchassisswaps.com
They have several kits using various late model chassis and are developing one for my '89 donor truck. The kit is meant to use the smaller 1 1/2 ton (or less) fifties truck bodies, but I'm looking at adapting it to use with the larger 2 ton units.
