I am mounting my heater back in my 59 Apache and I can not remember how the support bracket attaches to the bottom of the dash.I have looked in the manual but see nothing on heaters.
Please look at the photo.

look at what photo? heaters are in the accessory manual

depends on what heater you have, standard [recirculating] or deluxe or basic dealer model .... I don't recall a support that attaches to the dash on any of the 3, but maybe something in here might help - the heaters all mount to the firewall with long bolts and standoffs, maybe the 'support' you have is for a radio?

I see the bracket on the very left of one of your photos but can not see how it is attached.

you're right, that's the standard version heater, and there is a bracket there - the one in my pic is in my daily driver, I had to go out and look, I just hooked mine over the bottom lip of the dash, there's holes thereabouts but I didn't bolt it

I can remember removing the bolt and I have it in my plastic bag, but the holes don't line up.

maybe if you put the bracket above the dash lip, which may pull that plenum back a bit, it would line up?

The bracket has a offset bend so it can not come forward enough to reach the hole.
It would work if I put some flat washers under the bracket as the lip on the bottom of the dash is much larger.

I put a washer under the bracket to raise it up and it bolted down fine.
