| | | | Joined: Dec 2010 Posts: 253 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Dec 2010 Posts: 253 | Hi, I'm new to bigger trucks but I'm a fair mechanic and have been fixing up old 1/2 and 3/4 ton trucks for many years now.
So here's my question; on my 1945 G506 Military 4x4 1.5 ton truck the hydrovac unit is bad, what are my options here ? Can I get rebuild parts for it and fix it myself. Can something more modern/ simpler / cheaper be swapped in. I'm not doing a 100% resto on the truck so anything that will be underneath and not show I'm more than happy to upgrade.
Thanks for any and all help I can get as I'm new to hydrovac systems.

The one on my l946 two ton cost me nearly $300. But it does seem to be a very small operation and it might be that the person who runs it is not available at the moment, he may be away from his home. I wouldn't give up on it yet. It was just last year that I got mine.
