For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,270 Bubba - Curmudgeon | | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,270 | Jorb sent me a link to this "1940 Chevrolet" listing on eBay. It is an interesting conversion of an early Advance-Design 1-ton panel. Too bad there are no fender spears on the rear. And, too bad the convertor did not put the stainless window trim on the "crew" door to make things look more "natural". Would the crew doors fit without "stretching" the body? I don't think so.
Notice picture with the truck on the back of the tow truck, running board is under the front fender and rear fender is extended down. Weird! Running board looks longer than a 1 ton truck running board.

How would you tell if it is 47, 48, 49, or 50 from what is shown in that photo?

It does look good. Maybe someone with a parts catalog can verify years it was available.

It looks like it not available in 1952-53 because some metals (nickel in this case, I think) was needed for the Korean conflict.
