It appears to have factory air, any info on such would be appreciated. My main question, is there a good fuel injection system that would be a bolt on for this motor. I am going to put a Summit HEI, but plan few other mods to the engine other than FI. I understand Grumin vans had 292 fi,and I am wondering if they are the same as the earlier 292's. I haven't done fuel injection yet. but is on my list. There are several ways you can go. Holly has a fuel injection system. Megasquirt has a system that you can build and believe they maybe available already built now. Look for posts by EFI-DIY he is quite familar megasquirt and Chev sixes. It is also possible to cobble one together with parts (TBI, ECM, and wire harness) from the wrecking yard. Search here and inliners.org. for fuel injection info.
Grumman=UPS van?, GM used them in their step vans too.

| | | | | Joined: May 2009 Posts: 8 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: May 2009 Posts: 8 | The AC vent is above the radio, it is splayed to blow air in a 180 degree to provide cool air to both sides of the cab. I haven't been able to look close enough to see if there are any more vents. I Have been able to check out some up grade intake manifolds in Summit but am not sold on the carbs yet. I may end up using a carb, but want to explore FI first. I also have a 1960 4x4 sw, which I was assured was a NAPCO and told all documentation from purchase is avalible, however is not in my hands yet,that I am working on. On the 60 I am going to do a total and real restoration, very anal all factory frame off make your Momma prowd resto. When I get the docs in hand I think I will see probably not a NAPCO, and a 235, so I am now wondering if I should find a 235 of the right year to put back in it or a 292 of later vintage , or just go with a SB.
