I bought a 1950 1- 1/2ton farm truck. There is no title. He bought it from a guy and the guy bought it at a farm sale. In PA I did find that it was once registered in PA but too old for a name, They would have to go through microfilm but the owner has probably passed away.

Any thoughts how to get a title. I of course can get a bill of sale notarized.

This has been discussed here before. You can do a search and come up with all kinds of good reading. The bottom line is to check with your local license bureau and see what they want you to do. Every state is different. Good luck! It can be done.

Vehicles in Alabama used to transfer ownership with only a bill of sale- - - -no title. I'm not sure if that's still the case or not, but you might do a little research to find someone who would be willing to do a little paperwork manipulating and get it registered in a state that accepts bill-of-sale transfers. Then you could "buy" it back for a dollar and transfer the title back to yourself.
