I'm replacing the distributor with a rebuilt, and in the process of moving things from the core to the new unit, ran into this: the way I see it the grease cup (item #2) drives grease to the distributor shaft by rotating it. Whats confusing to me is item #4, the fiber plug. It is flat on one side , concave on the other, obviously from riding on the shaft. It seems to be quite hard, more than I expected. Should I replace it? If so, any idea where to get one? Sorry this was so long. Ed There was no response to above :rolleyes: , so I just put the old fiber plug in where I thought would be right. The grease cup almost did this distributor in, plenty of grease in there! Put some more pics on the page on how it looks now. | | |
