They competed in Engine Diagnosis, where a non-running engine was repaired and started against time, and in a NASCAR-type pit stop wheel change, also against the clock. Top honors in the engine repair category went to my team! In a runoff for 1st. place, my team diagnosed, and started the engine in a record-breaking 27 seconds! Good work, guys! Each member of the winning team was awarded a $2,000.00 scholarship to Nashville Auto-Diesel College, one of the best automotive trade schools in the country!  Jerry

I wish I could troubleshoot all my problems that quick! | | | | | Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 29,778 Kettle Custodian (pot stirrer) | | Kettle Custodian (pot stirrer) Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 29,778 | There were actually 3 problems, some blown fuses, an open-circuited wire that had to be replaced, and a bad ground. These were on a GM HEI ignition system, and we had practiced on one for some time. Good basic diagnosis, whatever the system, and a really good time!
