I got the engine back from the machine shop who built the short block with .040 pistons and new crank & cam. I bolted the head on and finished building the
engine in my garage. Installed the new engine with new Clutch, P-Plate,
Through-out Bearing, motor mounts .... First fire-up was great, the
engine ran smooth and sounded good except…. This engine has great oil pressure as per the dash gauge and good flow through the oil filter. This engine does not have any oil to the rocker rack. The first thing I did was pulled the rocker assembly and disassembled it looking for any sign of a blockage, none found.
I pulled the head and inspected the oil passage past the head-bolt, all
clear and all clean. Oil hole not blocked by the head gasket. I pulled the engine out of the car and dropped the oil pan, It looks like the crank and cam is good and wet with oil front to back. What could be wrong????

It needs a way for the oil to get past. Ive seen them with either a groove in them or a hole drilled up thru the center and out the side. This topic has been here before,,try doing a search.

Welcome to the Stovebolt. Too bad you didn't do a little searching and asking before you pulled the engine out looking for this problem. Backtracking from the rockers down toward the supply fitting in the block might have revealed a blockage. Your rocker supply comes from the rear cam bearing, and after a full rebuild, crud in a fitting or line could be a distinct possibility. Good luck and keep us posted.
