From what I can find opinions range from a waste of money to a decent boost in torque, hp, and mileage. A local FLAPS has a wall covered with these things and they sell quite brisk at a cost of $140 - $160. I took several out of the box and examined the pitch and form of the helix bore and I can duplicate it pretty easily. I’m going to make an aluminum pair and try them on my 235 in place of the regular spacers. I considered machining the helix down the throats of my Fenton intake but I think I’ll try the spacers first and go from there. I have a dyno appointment in 2 months so I’ll confirm results then. It will be interesting to see what the dyno figures are. When air/fuel mixtures are subjected to abrupt directional changes, like a 90° leg in a manifold or a mini cyclone like this spacer might induce, the fuel droplets can be thrown out of the air stream, being heavier than air. This can lead to decreased performance and other problems. I don't know if this is true but I remember reading it years ago.
