I found it on a post about the 235, but prolly the same for a 292...right? This is a new set.

Wanted Good Woman: Must be able to cook , clean , sew , tune engines and polish trucks. Must have old Stovebolt and garage. Please send picture of old Stovebolt and garage.

Now I have set the timing with the 4 to the left of 0. Seems to have less surging in third there.

#76851 05/01/2007 9:39 AM | Joined: Jan 2006 Posts: 586 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 2006 Posts: 586 | 4 degrees advance is a good place to start.With the fuels the way they are today,I would advance the timing (counterclockwise)until it pings under a load then retard it until it just stops pinging.You will get better fuel mileage and performance.The 292 is a workhorse.
