the door vin tag is what would have been used at first registration - it should be in the form of 3A 59 K 104930 [11 characters], which would translate to 3100-1959-Kansas City plant, and the remaining numbers are the vehicle production sequence number or 'serial number' .... what's on a "bill of sale" might match that or it might be something the PO or state came up with .... the vin on a 59 will also be stamped on the driver side top frame web near the steering box, less the first 2 characters

an engine number would be even fewer characters, about 6

Hy Daniel Bland, go up to Tech Tips, and open up deciphering your VIN and see if the numbers on your paperwork have anything in common with the information there.

3B = 3200 1/2T and S=St Louis - and yes, if it's been sub-framed you may well have cut it off, meaning short of the door tag matching that bill of sale, there's no proof it's the right truck wink
