Hey Guys, Can anyone tell me whether the 4 front cross sills for the bed on a one ton 49 chevy are the same? I marked mine when I took the old truck apart, But after sand blasting and por-15 I can't see My marks.

My frame had multiple holes not corresponding to the bolt holes for the wood beam support under my flat bed. I took measurements and marked the holes corresponding to each cross sill for the new truck bed. I could look up the numbers in my notebook if you like.

if your talking about a flat bed then yes. on mine half of them face forward and the the rest face to the rear. what i do is make little punch marks where things are going to disappear after blasting. you have a puzzle now and in time you'll get it sorted out. when you do, then punch them so after they're painted it will go back together the correct way.

As far as we could tell, they are all the same. That is how we sell them. If there is a difference, I hope someone speaks up to explain.

The only difference I have seen in a cross sill is when the truck came with an inside frame rail gas tank. There is an indentation for the tank on one of the cross sills. Those tanks were only found on Carry-alls and Panel trucks, to my knowledge. Yours should all be the same.

My first reply was about the location of the sill along the rail. My original bed came with 3 bolts on each side with no cross sills, instead of the six frame bolts and cross sills, as mentioned above, I found on my parts truck.
