The bracket I built. The spacer bracket allowed me to move the rear mounting bracket back, I think this makes it stronger than the brackets I've seen commercially. http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp539%3B5%3Enu%3D32%3B4%3E7%3B6%3E862%3EWSNRCG%3D369569625%3B337nu0mrj

After I tweaked the spacer braket on the altenator the alignment was perfect!

Used Pully off Generator, had to shave cooling fins slightly
Picked up a ballast resitor (for the coil)from local parts store (one listed for a 64 Impala)
12 volt battery
pulled all bulbs to find replacements (not done yet)
Disconnected fuel sender, will order resistor for it this week
Replaced 10ga wire (mine was pretty cracked)
Used the hook-up method were one wire from the plastic plug goes to post on back of ALT and other goes to a indictor light on dash
Fired up the truck, check the belt, doing great. Indicator light didn't go off, checked wire looks correct, checked voltages, looks like donor ALT was bad:( Have to get replacement.

After all the time and planning that went into the designing and building of this bracket I guess the $60 for the ones online isn't so bad. But I had the metal laying around, I own a mig welder, and I have the satifaction of doing it myself, which is of course "priceless" KSTT
