All of the vendors can supply parking brake cables, but unless they've found new sources, all of them that I've seen for the 1/2-ton trucks have been to short. They're just long enough to reach the backing plate and leave absolutely no slack for the movement of the rear end. Also they're to short and the bracket that's riveted to the frame can just barley grab them.
There was and article about Inline Tube in Classic Truck magazine back about a decade ago. Said they custome make brake cables to your exact dimemsions. I'm sure it would cost a bunch more than those from the standard repro vendors but at least you know they are going to fit, and to me that in it self is worth twice as much.

I tried to buy one several years ago, and they did not make one for my 1954 1/2 ton trucks. Inline Tubes page with parking brake cable information - they now state that they can make it any size for any vehicle. The one I got from Classic Parts (Chevy Duty) about 8 years ago works fine on my 1/2 ton pickup and suburban. I found a NOS set on eBay several years ago and that is what I will use on the 1/2 1954 pickup that I am working on (unless Inline Tubes or someone else has a SS reproduction that works). | | | | | Joined: Sep 2009 Posts: 433 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Sep 2009 Posts: 433 | Inline Tubes 1951-54 Chevrolet Truck 2wd Short 1/2 Ton Rear Ea. The ones I got from Classic Parts worked but were not the same as original ones... Did not have the correct rubber boots...
