I'm rebuilding the 3-speed tranny and in checking the clutch both the pressure plate and flywheel are heat checked. I want to have them turned or replaced but I can not get the flywheel off - any suggestions. This truck has been my daily driver up til a few days ago when I pulled the tranny.

Get 2 prybars & work it back & forth from behind. A little penatrant will help. Be careful. That thing is heavy & can come down fast. They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing. 1972 Chevy c10 Cheyenne SuperIn the Gallery Forum

Had the flywheel and pressure plate resurfaced today and will be installing them tomorrow. The ring in the pressure plate was broken so had that re-rivited and the plate resurfaced - basically rebuilt - less than $70 which I thought was a VERY good price.
