I bought a straight six with a four speed tranny out of a '70 model chevrolet pickup. The one that's currently in the '57 is partially seized. I've been working on trying to free it up for months but haven't had much luck so I just went out and found a replacement. Now I've got to finish some little things on the Blazer that I've got to make room for the '57 in the driveway. More updates soon to come.

You know your replacement six won't be a straight across swap.

My mother named him when she was a teenager after watching the movie Herbie the Love Bug He's been in the family since '58 when he was bought. What do I need to get for this engine to bolt in? Does someone make adapters that will fit the mounts on the engine to the mounts on the frame?

Save your mulla and busted knuckles. Fix the original.
You can build mounts for the newer six but it doesn't stop there.
You might need a different rad, tranny mount, wiring, fuel lines, gas pedal hookup etc. Probably not worth it.
