Hello to all the fellow restorers. I have a 51 Chevy short bed, Deluxe Cab, 235 6 Cyl.. I bought the pickup from the original owner in 1975 for $400. I bought it then because I can remember as a little kid, thats the same kind of pickup my dad farmed with. He even had it rigged to run on propane back then. Anyway,I went into the Navy and made a career out of it. I drove my 51 from West TX to San Diego, back to TX and back to Ca. again, then transferred to Whidbey Island, Wa., sufffled it around on a few ferrys and into Canada. Talk about a work horse, Old Red is still churning. However, working on restoring it. My brother did a overhaul on it a number of years ago. But had to let is sit a few years during in betweens. Just fininshed having valv job done, and replacing push rods.Got the moter running smoothly again, now Im working on other aesthtics of the beast.

Welcome, Dne'! I'm also one of the gals on this board. You'll find a lot of great info and people here.

Hi, Billy, welcome, too. Sounds like a neat truck.

Joker, an presently just outside of Breckenridge, TX. Honestly not a place I am fond of but until I shuffle to another location can only make the best of it.
Ye Ha!
