Hello, has anyone used the Altman Easy Latch door kit? Seems like every 2-3 months i have to readjust my stricker plates on the doors, like today i opened up the pass side and took 4 tries to get the door to latch solid. Ive been thinking about ordering the kit as my doors are aligned good but the stricker moves no matter how tight i get the screws. Im hoping to find out if others have used it and had good luck with them.

Have not used them.... but I've seen and tried them, quite nice.

For a lot less money you might want to try some door latch springs? My doors always required a little extra to get them to close, but I found an old spring and tried it out, and my doors close like butter. Thier real easy to install, they just slip on over the old latch flapper. I couldn't beleive the difference it made.

I installed Altman latches on my truck in March, I am very happy with them.

I installed them on my 49 Sub after trying to rebuild my originals. Bought some repros and they were just as bad. The Altmans work good but there is a lot of cutting you have to do to the door jamb and the operating link from the handle to the latch needs to be bent and hammered to get it to work properly. It is a lot of work but in my case there was no alternative. Also be advised that with the Altmans there is no way to lock the doors with them installed.

Im like you then, i put repops on 2 years ago and been fighting them ever sense. Im going to break down and get them, as im afraid that the pass door will come open while im driving it. If all goes well Im hoping Santa will bring me the Altman powerlocks for Christmas lol.

For me, thats why im thinking about the Altman Latch kit along with the powerlocks down the road to make it safe and lockable so i can cruise on the weekends and stop to get something to eat and not worrry about it getting stolen.

just ordered my latch kit from them a couple days ago...i opted to pick it up at the street rod nationals in louisville ky. in a few weeks....saved some shipping money that way..what i plan on doing is to use another door lock ...have them keyed alike and install it in the drivers door.........dave
