Gday guys.
New to the forum and Chevs as well.
I have a 63 C10 panel truck and am considering swapping the 3 speed column manual for an auto. I would like to retain the 230ci six cylinder though.
Being new to Chev's I've been told they have the same bellhousing bolt pattern from v8s to 6's allowing for greater combinations. Is this true?
I've been told that a Turbo 700/ 700R4 auto tranny would be the best for my truck because of the overdrive.
What would I need to do for this conversion on my 63? Has anyone done this before? I've tried searching the forum using the search function but to no avail...
I'm also thinking of using either a Lokar or Gennie floor mounted shifter.
Any help would be appreciated!
Cheers!
Brenton.
