John Smith has put together a great tech tip that this group may enjoy. Taking all those pictures AND writing up all the details was probably more work than actually switching from disc brakes to power brakes!! It's all here for you to check out.

Feel free to post any feedback, ask questions. We've linked the TT page here so John can add additional details if necessary.

Thanks John!

Great write up, now if someone would just do it for a crossmember swap, lots less parts to hook up. and cheaper.

Did I miss something? did I read too fast? The most important part? What spindles? what other parts do I use? This should be the first thing on the list of How to's in any TIP. Didn't look at all the pics, so if the info is there, it's too buried. What rotors? what booster? What year of donor truck? or what are the new part numbers? where did you get the parts?????????

Alot of people have after market kits. I got my kit from CPP and it included the spindles, rotors, lines, tie rods, etc...was a complete kit except for the master cylinder. It also allows you to upgrade to the newer 73-87 style tie rods. I also purchased a spring/shock kit from them and will swap those out at the same time. I believe if your after a donar truck BARTAMOS you should look for a 73-87 chevy with the bolt pattern that your looking for I.E. 5 lug, 6 lug or 8 lug.
