Curently running huck type brakes and want to update to the later bendix brakes. Have both axles complete with the 49 having new king pins and tie rod ends and the 53 axle being fairly well worn but with good hubs drums and other brake parts. The huck brakes work fine but I'm changing the rear end to a later model with good working bendix brakes. | | | | Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 6,061 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 6,061 | Hy ttodd, there is a bearing change in 53, and it also appears that the kingpins are different as well. Im not saying it's not doable, it just looks like it will be a challenge. Probably the simplest would be to rebuild the 53 axle and swap that in place, hope that helps. | | | | Joined: Feb 2005 Posts: 469 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2005 Posts: 469 | Thanks for the reply, thats probably what I'll do. Someone might need the 49 axle. | | |
