The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Engine Shop Pulling engine & trans in '64 c10 UPDATE

Grandpa, my friend, and I ended up pulling the engine and trans together. With three people it was pretty easy to get out. My 170 pounds acted as the load leveler and it came out nicely. We also removed the radiator because it was out of a 1986 Nissan Maxima. Previous owner put it in there just so that it had a rad. We got the engine and trans apart on the ground. The flexplate was backwards and fits much better the RIGHT way. Thanks for the help so far and I'll try to jeep you somewhat informed/ updated.

that's great. is it goin right back i nwith flexplate on right or is it going to get rebuilt? hope it goes back in as smooth for you.

The 283 is going back in fo a few years but the dream is to put the 327 out of the truck grandpa bought in '76 or '77 and eventually put that 327 in. It is currently our parts truck. I hope it is rebuildable, we haven't pulled it out yet.
