Hi,
im hoping someone out there can help me out, i purchased a 39 chevy 1/2 ton but it did not have the original rear fenders. i have purchased 2 rear fenders but i was told they are not correct for 39. i know that 39 fenders are wider than 40-46 fenders...does any one have measurments for a true 39 rear fender??? it would help me out alot so i can tell for sure when and if i run into one...i would need the length of the fender, the width of the fender from the the top inside edge to the outside edge and the width of the wheel opening..thanks!!!!

If you don't get a response here, check the shop area, Making a Stovebolt Bed section. The folks at Mar-K probably have all the dimensions handy. And, let's see some pics!

A '39 PU rear fender looks just like a '40-'46 PU rear fender from a side view, except for being 1-3/8" wider. If you lay the fenders on the floor, or measure from the box side to the wheel opening, the '39 fenders will be about 13" wide, and the '40-'46 about 11-1/2" wide. This is measured at the top of the wheel opening.

@Barry weeks
So are 40-46 rear fenders the same length, and height as 39???... So as long as I have a 13" wide fender I can consider it original?? Thanks for your information !!!!
