Hello all, I've been checking out this forum for a little while and finally decided to post. I have a 1952 Chevy 3600 (hence the name) and am in the process of just trying to get it up and going. It's solid for the most part, but am replacing the lower cowls on both side. It has a 283 with a 4spd in iy, and no bed! So I will most likely be making my own. So we shall see.

Welcome to you from another stovebolter who is brave (or crazy?) enough to tempt fate driving vintage iron on the streets of Chicago.

Good luck with her, and post some pics soon.

Dave, it's not my first rodeo with the Chicago potholes vs vintage iron, so I think I'll be OK. We shall see. And thanks CGG!

And Dave, where about in Chicago are you from? I'm actually from the western suburbs, but nobody outside of Illinois knows where Woodridge is, so I say Chicago.

Thanks 1953. And no I have not. Just got it a few weeks ago. And trust me, I'm sure I'll ask a lot of questions.

Welcome 1952 Chevy

I just did all that cowl related replacement; inners, middles, outers, etc on
my 51. Plus toe board, floors, It was a mess, but got thru it finally!

I'm in the far western (Fox Valley) burbs.

Have fun
mike

Squire, I'd like to do all that too! But will have to make do with just the lower cowls and some sheetmetal patches I'm making for the floor. Do you have pics of your truck?

I'm making some progress on my truck lately, and today I plan to go throw on the new u bolts, and do some patch work in the cab.

I should probably update this... The 52 has been gone for months now. Had to get rid of it due to some unfortunate circumstances. But the good news is that I now have a 1949 1/2 ton!
