This is the left-fronts, before and after. As you can see, there were a few bits missing so I just want to make sure I got it all where it belongs. I see you upgraded to automatic adjusters, were you able to buy a kit to do that? If you did buy some kind of kit, please post the part number here as others may be interested in upgrading also, keep up the good work, I new you could do it!

Looks nice and clean. I'm not a brake person, but the 'after' picture has things in a different position than the 'before picture. The return spring on one of the shoes doesn't go to the anchor pin...is that right?
Although you have added automatic adjusters, the star adjuster is flopped 180°. Can you still access the star through the slot if needed. Is the 'hand' of the adjuster thread consistent with the ratchet motion of the self-adjuster.
There are LEFT and RIGHT dissimilarities with some brake parts that make them 'side sensitive'.

I was dinking around in the shop and looked in my Motors Manual for brakes. The picture in the book looks exactly like your pix. The only difference is the return spring on the back shoe that isn't attached to the anchor.

I made the assumption that both sides are supposed to have the adjuster bar...so I got the kit for that...(Sorry 3B, I'll have to think back to where I got it.)
The before pic has a star adjuster that was (I think) facing the wrong way, had teeth that were different (broader) than the rt-hand side, and that spring was just laying overtop of the whole thing. Didn't seem right.
Looking at the pics of the other side, that return spring does go over the orange thing. (???) So I just repeated it on this side.
It all turned out rather colorful didn't it.
Now, when you say "Can you still access the star through the slot if needed?" Uhm...never thought about that. Am I supposed to set that to some measurement? See, I think I put the dust plug thingy in that hole in the brake backing plate. And I think I put it in from the inside....not the outside.
Why do I want to get to the star from the outside and what did I forget???
Thanks 1965 Chevy C-30 1-Ton "Work like you don't need the money. Love like you've never been hurt. Dance like nobody's watching."

Remember, I'm not a brake guru!. Although the brakes now have self adjusters, they will be assembled backed off, then brought up to adjustment with a brake spoon from the outside. After that, the self adjuster should keep them properly adjusted.
The dust shield should pop in from the outside. In the picture, it looks like the return spring for the rear shoe isn't attached to the anchor.

I found one out of 12 wheel cylinders that wasn't metric. All the others were metric and the bleeder is too short to work. (No, there are no replacements that are longer, I spent two days looking)
So my result was to modify the screw part of brake hose by taking some of the round of the edge. I had to do the same to a wrench to make the round part thinner to fit.
(Oh, about the old ones, I finally looked yesterday and got a hone...but mine are so pitted as to be worthless.) 1965 Chevy C-30 1-Ton "Work like you don't need the money. Love like you've never been hurt. Dance like nobody's watching."
