New set from Inline Tube, lines on rear axle are 3/16" also BUT the treaded ends are to small for the brass blocks. Checked my other trucks,none match that thread size. I let the old girl sit all winter,(no heat) in the garage. I sure would like to see her roll now. Is it possible they put the wrong ends on? I know some had 1/4" rear lines from what I have read. Unless you speced the wrong ends yourself and purchased what they said were the correct ones they should make it right. Someone should come along aoon and tell you what the right size is but that ain't gonna make the ends change.

Went to my auto parts(NAPA) store and bought 1/4 to 3/16 threaded adpters. They worked just fine. I also found out that if you cannot go 1/4" , the 3/16" will work just as good. You will find that out if ever you decide to install disk on the front. Another story. Good luck, Mike | | |

Do the 3/16 tubes fit the wheel cyls? If not I would get some 1/4 in. tubes from the local parts store & cut them down if nessesary. Do you have 1/4 in. tube going back to the axle? Wrenchbender yes they are from the axle brass block to the wheel cylinder brass block with the banjo screw (I think they call it that)that goes through it. 1/4 on the rest of the truck. 3/16 was what I took off the rear axle to relpace? | | |

The original & replacement lines are 3/16 but the original had larger fittings on one end. You could take the fittings off the old ones & cut the flare off & double flare it but I would get the reducers like R4me says. 3/16 tubeing is a little tricky to double flare although I,ve done it many times. One is still STUCK in the brass block even after soaking. The reducers looks like me best solution so far but why am I in this predicament wrench...do I have a 491/2 when changes were being made that I have read about? Just wierd.
