I can't find any nice chrome hubcaps so now I'm looking for new wheels. I know from reading here that I need trailer wheels but I don't know what size or backspace to look for. Darren | | | | Joined: Jul 2009 Posts: 365 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Jul 2009 Posts: 365 | good luck I have been looking for some nice wheels for my truck. I found some nice trailer wheels ( rims) with the correct back spacing but trailer wheels are not for driving I am told. I like the 2004-6 chevy rims but dont know if they will fit. The stock tie rod ends seem to be a issue also . If you find some nice ones post a pict. | | | | Joined: Jun 2010 Posts: 188 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Jun 2010 Posts: 188 | Color me curious!! What type of chrome caps do you need. Clip on style. I know a guy who has 4 NOS chrome ones. | | | | Joined: Aug 2008 Posts: 82 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Aug 2008 Posts: 82 | Everyone has their own level of comfort - but I wouldn't sweat driving on trailer wheels (can't remember the brand name off the top of my head). I might change my mind if I were hauling a loaded gooseneck trailer or something. Again, YMMV.
There (was) a 3600 on eBay that has '95 Chevy wheels. I'll see if I can grab the pics and load them somewhere. I think they look nice!

I knew I couldn't post eBay links, but I guess I can't even mention eBay auctions by number. Here are the shots of a '55 3600 dually with the '95 Chev wheels: wheel wheel wheel wheel I was going about this with dually in mind. This is all moot for SRW 3600s

A number of vehicles used them, including Dodge and Ford trucks. I'm pretty sure American Racing makes some rims that will fit. I have Aluminum mags on my '59 Apache 3600, although I have no idea what they're off of.

Special Thanks to guumbah from info from another post. Just ordered AR Outlaw II's 16x7 8x6 1/2 bolt pattern w/ 3 3/4 backspace. I actually have these same wheels on my '85 GMC 3/4 ton 4wd so I put one on the front of the Apache and it clears the tie rod no problem. The tire does hit the pitman arm on a hard left but it has a large 285 tire on it. Will probably go with a much smaller 235 tire and adjust out the stop. | | |
