Well I'm 27 months into this truck and just getting around to submitting it. I have went from New Guy to Wrench Fetcher and back to New Guy. LOL. I guess from lack of participation. I have been consumed with having this truck road worthy by August. If you ask my wife I'm obsessed. Yes it means late nights cold or no dinner which I'm sure others have experienced. Anyway this is my first build and I have enjoyed everything about it. I had an itch for a old truck an expressed my desire for such a project. The little lady said if that's what you want get it. So my search began. I did not want to buy a completed truck but one that I could make my own. I fell for the 46 after being a day late on a 41. I have to admit the front end just grabbed me if you know what I mean. Much to the Mrs. surprise I came home with a basket case on a 53 frame and a lot of loose parts. I located a stock frame complete in our only salvage yard in town for $100 bucks (whats the odds on that?). I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel though. I have installed the Mustang II kit from TCI, 350, 700R4, 10 bolt rear. Other features include Flaming River tilt column, Hyper Cool heat & air, aluminum radiator, Spal fan, electric exhaust cutouts, Mar-K bed with hidden latches and bowtie embossed on tailgate, I have also moved the fuel tank to rear of frame and fabbed filler neck to right rear fender to a pop up lid. I used the space under the seat to install electric cut off switch, hidden audio and alarm system. I hinged the seat (third row Chrysler minivan) and used struts, latch and key lock from a Kia Sportage to provide a hidden lockable storage. I added plunger switch to door posts for courtesy lamps. I have had help from a friend who owns a chrome shop :-) with my metal work a fascinating art. I have parts at the body shop now with cab and bed to follow for prep and prime. I hope to make a few runs in August and tear it back down for final paint this fall/winter. I guess that's plenty of wind for one post. Obsessed? Maybe, Passionate? Definitely! Thanks for reading. Click build for pictures and yes I do need to update my pics it's on my list. LOL.

SWEEEEET ride!!! chug I'd be interested in seeing more pics, especially of your hidden compartment under the seat. Awesome idea!! Might do something like that in my '37 someday.

Thanks for posting!

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.

Thanks guys, I'll try and get some more pics up soon. Traveling every week with work puts a squeeze on my truck time, though I have been known to take off a week just to work on it. :-)

I have been kinda vacant on here due to work and finishing the truck. Now it's time to go driving! Took her to the Frog Follies in Evansville last weekend had a great time and the truck turn out was great. Click on link to see pic's, She may not be for everyone but she suits me. G

Sweet Ride! --- Is the base color on the cab the original "Medium Cream" by any chance? I've been considering it but have never seen anything but faded & discolored versions on old charts.

Super job! Do you have any pictures of the engine. I'd love to see what you have done there.
